Nena has been creating transformative photography experiences since 2009 - long before boudoir was a mainstream conversation. Over 16+ years, she built something rare in this industry: a full team, a signature process, and a studio where women consistently leave changed.
She founded Fairytale After Dark on a single belief - that every woman deserves to see herself the way the people who love her already do. Nena doesn't just run a photography studio. She's built a space where women come in nervous and leave proud.
Today she leads a team of artists, photographers, and experience makers who share her obsession with the details that make the difference. Every element of the FAD experience - from how you're greeted at the door to the moment you see your portraits for the first time - was designed by her, deliberately.

FAQS
I am so nervous - is that normal?
Completely normal. Almost every client says she feels nervous walking in. It’s a vulnerable thing to be photographed this way.
What changes everything is the atmosphere. Once glam starts, the music is playing, and you’re being guided with warmth and encouragement, the nerves fade quickly. Most women leave saying it felt empowering and even fun.
How long does the session last?
Your boudoir day is meant to be just that - a DAY all about you! You will be in the studio with us for up to 3.5 hours. We recommend that you get any other obligations off of your plate on your session day to really focus on you, yourself care, and filling your cup! We can't wait to do that with you!
What should I bring to my session?
Bring 2-3 outfits that make you feel like you. Do NOT stress - we've got you! Think sexy lingerie, a body suit looks amazing on everyone, heels you never wear but love, or even something unexpected that shows your personality. When you get here, we’ll help you choose the best looks for your session so everything feels effortless.
Do you provide hair and make up?
Yes. Professional hair and makeup is included in your experience.
Our glam artists create a look that feels like you, just elevated. Soft and romantic, bold and dramatic, or somewhere in between. We talk through your preferences so you still feel like yourself, only more polished and camera-ready.
What if I don’t know how to pose?
The good news? You don’t need to know a single pose. We’ll walk you through everything—how to move, where to look, even what to do with your hands. You’ll be shocked how natural it feels once we start. By the end, you’ll be thinking, “Wait… I’m actually kinda obsessed with myself.”
